Anthropic launches Claude Code Channels: Message your AI agent directly on Telegram and Discord
Anthropic has launched Claude Code Channels, a new feature that lets developers connect their Claude Code agent directly to Discord and Telegram. You can now instruct your personal AI coding agent from your phone, wherever you happen to be.
Until now, Claude Code was limited to the desktop application, terminal, or integrations within developer environments. With Channels, the interaction moves into the platforms where people actually spend their time. You send a message, the agent continues working, writes code, and delivers results back to your chat.
This is a clear step toward the kind of asynchronous, autonomous workflow that tools like OpenClaw have owned since November 2025. Anthropic is now entering the same territory, putting pressure on third-party tools built on top of the Claude interface.
For CIOs and technical leaders, the signal is clear: the natural way to interact with AI agents is no longer just terminal and IDE. It is messaging platforms. Organizations should consider how they want to handle AI agents operating in the same channels their human colleagues use for collaboration.
The feature is available now, with official documentation at code.claude.com. Early developer feedback is strongly positive.
