Anthropic Blocks Claude OAuth for Third-Party Tools: OpenCode Loses Integration

Anthropic has changed Claude's terms of access in a way that effectively blocks third-party coding tools from using Claude via OAuth. The move directly impacts OpenCode, a popular open source alternative to Cursor and GitHub Copilot.

OpenCode has confirmed it can no longer integrate Claude via OAuth after Anthropic sent a legal request to remove the integration. The company has now stripped all Anthropic references from its website and codebase.

According to the updated Claude Code documentation, OAuth tokens from Claude Free, Pro, and Max accounts can no longer be used in any product, tool, or service, including Anthropic's own Agent SDK.

This is a clear signal that Anthropic wants to control the distribution channel for Claude in the coding assistance segment. Developers wishing to use Claude in their own tools must now go through official API channels with associated costs.

For organizations that have built internal tooling on top of Claude access via personal accounts, this is a wake-up call. Anthropic is drawing a hard line between personal use and commercial integration. CIOs should review their Claude usage patterns and ensure they have the proper API agreements in place.
