Hollywood puts its foot down

ByteDance launched the AI video generator Seedance 2.0 in China in February 2026. The model quickly generated viral attention. This triggered an immediate reaction from Hollywood studios.

My take:

The Seedance case is the first major test case for AI and copyright in video generation. An AI tool can train on licensed content and expose you to lawsuits you didn't know you had. The supplier contract should include IP indemnification.
