Claude Can Now Control Your Windows PC

Anthropic has expanded its Computer Use feature to support Windows. From April 3, 2026, Claude can control the mouse, keyboard, and screen on Windows machines, after the feature was previously only available on Mac.

The feature is part of Claude Cowork and Claude Code and allows the AI to perform multi-step tasks directly on your computer. It can navigate browsers, open applications, read and edit files, and complete complex work tasks without you needing to intervene at each step.

The feature is currently in research preview and requires a Claude Pro or Max subscription. The Windows version has full feature parity with the Mac version, which has been available since earlier this year.

This is a significant step toward more autonomous AI agents operating directly in users' digital environments. While the promises are large, such capabilities are also controversial from a security perspective. Anthropic emphasizes that the user retains full control at all times and can stop the agent.

For businesses running Windows-based infrastructure, this opens up automation of repetitive office tasks directly through Claude.
