Google Deploys Gemini AI Agents to Monitor Dark Web for Corporate Threats

Google has launched a new security service that puts Gemini AI agents to work scanning the dark web for threats targeting specific organizations. Announced at RSAC 2026, the service analyzes over ten million posts per day from criminal forums and underground marketplaces.

The system works by having an organization confirm its identity, after which Gemini builds a customer profile. Within minutes, the service returns a deep analysis of the customer's environment, business operations, key personnel, brands, and technology stack. All findings are based on publicly available information, with source citations included in every report.

What sets Google's approach apart from traditional threat scanning tools is the degree of automation. Agents automatically generate alerts and classify potential threats from the past seven days, without requiring manual analysis for each finding.

The service integrates into Google Security Operations, and Google plans to expand with new "agentic automation" features that let enterprises deploy autonomous agents to identify and respond to threats without human intervention.

For CIOs and security leaders, this is a significant development. Traditional dark web monitoring has required dedicated analysts and specialized expertise. With Gemini agents, much of this can be automated, potentially democratizing advanced threat intelligence for organizations that lack the resources for large security teams.
