Google launches Veo 3.1 Lite and Lyria 3 – cheaper AI video and music generation

Google launched Veo 3.1 Lite Preview today, a new cost-efficient model for AI video generation. The model gives developers access to video generation at a lower price point than flagship models.

Additionally, the Lyria 3 models launched last week (March 25), with two variants: lyria-3-clip-preview and lyria-3-pro-preview. These can generate high-quality music from text and image inputs.

Google is also expanding Gemini 3.1 Flash Live for more natural and reliable audio AI, and rolled out Search Live globally.

For developers, this means more tools in the multimedia generation arsenal, with a lower barrier to building video and music features into applications.
