OpenAI raises $122 billion – valued at $852 billion

OpenAI announced today it has closed a funding round of $122 billion, achieving a valuation of $852 billion. The round was led by Amazon, Nvidia, and SoftBank, with continued support from Microsoft.

The company reports $2 billion in monthly revenue and over 900 million weekly ChatGPT users, including more than 50 million paying subscribers.

The capital will fund the buildout of an AI superapp combining ChatGPT, Codex, browser, and agentic capabilities into a unified experience. A significant portion will go toward compute infrastructure, which OpenAI considers its strategic advantage.

The company expects enterprise revenue to match consumer revenue by end of 2026. The funding round arrives ahead of an expected IPO that could be one of the largest tech listings ever.
