Oracle Launches AI Database 26ai with Unified Memory Core for Enterprise Agentic AI

Oracle has unveiled Oracle AI Database 26ai, a comprehensive database update that consolidates vector, JSON, graph, relational, and spatial data into a single ACID-transactional engine. Announced March 26, 2026, this positions Oracle as the central control plane for enterprise agentic AI workflows.

The core problem 26ai addresses is what the industry calls the "integration tax." In a typical enterprise AI stack, an organization might rely on a vector database for semantic search, a document store for JSON, a relational database for transactions, and a graph database for relationship mapping.
