Perplexity Health: A Search Engine for Your Body
Perplexity AI has launched Perplexity Health, a new vertical that aggregates data from Apple Health, wearables, and electronic medical records to deliver personalized health insights. The service is now available to Pro and Max users in the United States.
At launch, Perplexity Health connects to Apple Health, Fitbit, Ultrahuman, and Withings, with Oura and Function support coming soon. Through the company's new "Perplexity Computer" agents, the system can actually pull journal data and wearable measurements and contextualize them.
The user experience feels like searching the web, but for your own health. Ask a question and Perplexity Health responds with insights based on your actual health data. The system can create personalized training plans, analyze sleep patterns, and flag anomalies that may require medical follow-up.
The launch coincides with Microsoft's Copilot Health release, and comes just months after Google DeepMind's AMIE project demonstrated AI assistants performing at the level of general practitioners. Health AI is becoming a full consumer product segment.
For CIOs in healthcare and companies with health responsibilities, these launches foreshadow what employees will soon expect from internal systems: AI that understands me, not just answers questions.
