Apple Opens Siri to Claude and Gemini: Multi-AI Orchestration Platform Coming

Apple plans to allow competing AI services, including Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude, to integrate directly with Siri in upcoming versions of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. Bloomberg reported this on March 28, 2026.

According to the report, iPhone will effectively become a platform that orchestrates multiple AI models. Users will be able to choose which AI service they prefer for different tasks, while Siri acts as coordinator. Apple is expected to present this at WWDC 2026.

A strategic pivot

Apple's AI efforts have had a slower start than competitors. Apple Intelligence, launched with iOS 18, received disappointing reviews for its weak capabilities compared to ChatGPT and Claude. By opening up to third-party integrations, Apple turns this into an advantage: Siri becomes a hub for the entire AI ecosystem rather than an isolated product.

The ChatGPT integration in iOS 18 was the first step. Now the logic expands to include Google's flagship Gemini and Anthropic's Claude, two of the most advanced AI models on the market.

What this means for enterprises

For CIOs and technology leaders, this is a significant development. iPhone is the primary mobile device in most organizations, and a Siri that can interface with Claude or Gemini will change workflows for employees without requiring app switching.

It remains to be seen what data processing agreements Apple will require from third-party providers, and whether GDPR requirements for European users will limit functionality.

Apple is expected to provide full technical details at WWDC 2026, typically held in June.
