Apple has announced that its Worldwide Developers Conference 2026 will be held June 8 through June 12, both online and at its Cupertino, California headquarters. This year's conference will center on "AI advancements" alongside the usual platform updates for iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS.

The big expectation is a significantly revamped Siri. Apple has lagged behind rivals in the AI race, and WWDC 2026 could be its most consequential developer conference in years. Earlier in 2026, Apple signed a deal with Google to use Gemini models to power AI features on its platform, and brought agentic coding tools from both Anthropic Claude and OpenAI Codex to Xcode.

Last year's WWDC introduced the Foundation Model framework, enabling developers to run offline AI models on-device. Advancements to this framework are expected at this year's event. The headline, however, is the long-delayed Siri revamp, which is expected to finally deliver better personal context and on-screen awareness after multiple reported delays.

For enterprise CIOs and IT decision-makers, Apple's 2026 AI push represents a shift toward parity with Google and Microsoft's AI offerings. Key areas to watch include on-device AI capabilities for privacy-sensitive use cases, enterprise integrations, and how deeply Gemini's capabilities will be woven into the Apple ecosystem.
